Intern­ship

The sones R&D is a great place to do an intern­ship to expand your research hori­zons and taste indus­try research. Intern­ships are at least three months of full-time work. Their start and end dates are flex­i­ble with regard to aca­d­e­mic sched­ules but most com­monly occur over the spring and sum­mer break. 

As a hands-on intern, you’ll learn how to make deci­sions about design and imple­men­ta­tion mak­ing a vision real­ity. You will not only learn how to write code using effi­cient data struc­tures and algo­rithms, but also how to ensure your code’s qual­ity by mak­ing sure it per­forms as your users expect it to. 

Qual­i­fi­ca­tions

  • Pur­su­ing a B.A./M.A./B.S./M.S. or Ph.D. degree in (Applied) Com­puter Sci­ence, Math­e­mat­ics or related fields.
  • 1–2 years expe­ri­ence pro­gram­ming in C#, Java, and/or other com­puter pro­gram­ming lan­guages preferred.
  • Abil­ity to derive cre­ative and inno­v­a­tive solu­tions for com­plex prob­lems by think­ing “out­side the box”.
  • Abil­ity to author test plans and cases and debug at source level after iden­ti­fy­ing bugs.
